Acomplia Rimonabant Review
Acomplia is the brand name for the prescription diet drug,
Rimonabant.
Rimonabant is a very strong and powerful pharmaceutical grade appetite
suppressant that has several potential side effects.
These side effects were so great that in October 2008 it was removed from
shelves because of fatal health conditions possibly linked to its use.
Acomplia was only available through a doctor consultation and prescription. You cannot legally buy it
over the counter or through the internet. When it was first introduced it was viewed by most health care
professionals as the next best anti-obesity drug. Since 2006, it is estimated that over 100,000 patients have
received the prescription.
It could effectively suppress appetite, but the potential danger and negative side
effects of the product outweigh the benefits. Therefore, it was removed from the market and is no
longer available.
What It Is
As mentioned earlier, Acomplia is a powerful appetite suppressant that can trick the brain into its craving for
food. The aim of Acomplia was to reduce the want for food by suppressing the appetite.
Acomplia worked by affecting the brain's cannabinoid receptors that are thought to control
dependency and the want for food. The product wasn't just aimed at obese patients, but also for those who were
addicted to other products such as alcohol, tobacco and other dependency drugs.
Side Effects
- Back pain
- Insomnia, tiredness and fatigue
- Memory loss
- Panic attacks and mental disorders
- Stomach cramps
- Stomach upsets, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting
- Tendonitis
Other more serious side effects have been reported with a possible link to suicide of women who were on the
drug. Ironically, Acomplia could also lead to a dependency.
Does It Work
There is no doubt that it can have an effect on controlling appetite. Before it was banned it was considered one
of the most effective non-natural appetite suppressants on the market.
The minor to severe side effects have since made this diet drug mostly obsolete. Some more natural appetite
suppressants have proven to be just as effective without the dangers of physical and mental side effects.
Where to Buy
As of 2008 you cannot legally purchase Acomplia. It can still be
bought on the web, but this isn't advisable since it was originally available only through a prescription for the
user's safety.
