How to effectively suppress your appetite
Suppressing your appetite
can be a very difficult thing, especially if you’re
thinking about doing it alone.
The truth is that you really can suppress your appetite so
that over time you naturally eat less and lose weight and it
really can be just a case of mind over matter.
Whether you just want to enhance your workout routine or are
obese, it is possible to suppress your appetite!
Before you begin any type of appetite suppression, you must
make sure that doing so will not pose any health risk to you.
Suppressing your appetite when it’s not recommended could lead
to malnourishment, which is a case of your body not receiving
the vitamins, minerals, and nourishment that it needs. When
this happens, your body will become prone to infection and will
begin to slowly break down.
However if you have discussed it with your doctor and have a
condition that will benefit from appetite suppression, such as
obesity, here are a few ways that you can do it!
- Eating small meals with plenty of water is a great way
to suppress your appetite. It’s healthier for everybody to
eat 6 small meals a day as opposed to 3 large ones but this
is especially important for appetite suppression because it
keeps the stomach feeling full at all times. This helps you
not overeat and not give in to snack cravings. Drink at
least 1.5 liters of water a day. This is a lot but it will
not hurt you and will aid in making you feel full.
- 10 to 20 minutes before every meal drink 0.5 liter of
water. The water will settle in your stomach and you will
feel start feeling full before you have even begun to eat.
Doing this at every meal will have you consistently eating
less and is one of the best ways to suppress your
appetite.
- Of course, these steps are fine for while you’re eating
but what are you going to do about those in-between snacks
that you’re going to want? Drink that last 0.5 liter of
water and that will tie you over until your next small meal
and 0.5 litre of water.
- Eating a lot of salad is a great way to suppress your
appetite, especially if you eat it before every meal. The
salad will make you feel fuller than you would without it
but vegetables are made up mostly of water and so you won’t
carry the extra calories around with you. Vegetables are
also very high in fiber, which also helps you lose weight
and isn’t digested by your body!
When you’re trying to suppress
your appetite, it’s important to remember that breakfast
really is the most important meal of the day.
If you skip breakfast, you are most likely to become very
hungry just before lunch and you will likely spend the rest of
the day eating. Obviously not a very effective appetite
suppressant at all!
Stock up on a healthy breakfast and make sure to bring your
water!
