How To Overcome Weight Loss Excuses
You want to lose weight but
there’s never a good time. First you’re carrying around
‘holiday weight’ then you’re too busy to lose it. Next
thing you know, it’s a month away from swimsuit season and
you’ve lost all motivation because you think it’s simply
too late now.
Pretty soon the holidays come again and you’re back in the
same cycle. You’re partly right that there will never be a good
time to lose weight. But that’s because all too often, there’s
always an excuse not to.
When it comes to losing weight, there may be only a handful
of reasons why you should do it and thousands of reasons of why
you shouldn’t or you can’t. The important thing to remember is
that the few reasons why you should far outweigh the numerous
excuses you keep giving yourself so that you shouldn't.
There’s no question that losing weight will make you a
healthier person. You will have more energy, live a longer life
and look and feel much better about yourself! These are all
great reasons to lose weight. Now consider the reasons why you
think you can’t. Most of these reasons are the same reasons
everyone has for not losing weight because making excuses for
weight loss is very common and far too easy.
The most common excuses people give for not losing weight
are:
- They don’t have time to exercise or to prepare healthy
meals
- They think they are already too heavy to exercise so it
will take too long or they simply won’t physically be able
to do it
- They feel they don’t have a support system
- They’re not feeling well
- They’re simply bored.
Not one of these excuses is a good
reason not to lose weight so to rid yourself of excuses
you must first ask yourself why you make them.
The biggest reason people make excuses not to lose weight is
because they’re worried about failing. The failure rate among
people who are trying to lose weight is high but it’s important
to remember that so are the number of success stories!
If you want to lose weight but aren’t because you’re worried
you will fail, you are already failing by not trying. So it’s
time to stop making excuses and start planning how you’re going
to lose that weight that you don’t want to live with
anymore!
The fear of failure generally stems from a low self-esteem.
People who have low self-esteem generally consume themselves
with negative thoughts, especially in regards to their own
capabilities. Instead of telling yourself that you won’t be
able to do it, imagine how good it will feel once you
accomplish it!
Time is definitely a factor when it comes to losing weight
but you must consider what’s most important to you because we
will always find time for the things that are important in our
life.
Make weight loss a priority and
schedule it in just as you would anything else. Take the
time to make healthy meals and exercise and pretty soon
you ‘won’t have time’ to watch TV, and you’ll feel great
about it!
In order to bust the motivation blues when your weight loss
is simply taking too long, find pictures of what you want to
look like and keep thinking about them when you’re at the low
points on your weight loss journey. Dietary supplements such as
